we had a very good father's day. though i really am a firm believer that on father's day, daddy's should spend all day with the kids alone!!! guess that's not really going to happen!
we had a really good day. we spent it at home. the kids didn't wake up until almost 9:30!!!! what a start! then i took the kids out for donuts and McD's breakfast. daddy was wanting pancakes and the kids wanted donuts. well...did you know that McD's stopped selling breakfast until 11 on sundays? now the cut off is 10:30am all the way around!!! that totally stinks. needless to say...daddy got donuts, too.
after that...we just hung out. daddy got to open his cards and couple of presents. we layed on the couch and watched some toons, then it was already nap time. i got jordyn down, daddy got jack down and then i laid down with jacob. i kept falling asleep...but these little noises kept waking me up...they were jacob playing with various toys in his room, or reading books. stinker!
so, after that, i ran out to get a book and by time i got home, it was time for daddy to get ready for work. how convenient that he offered to work on father's day!
so i took the kids over to UNCLE TIM'S to wish him happy father's day and we stayed for dinner.
i also wanted to add:
i miss you terribly dad! today especially. there are lots of days in the year that draw special attention to you and how much i miss you...and today is certainly one of them. jacob and i were going to pick up lunch and come have it with you...but it was SOOO very hot out and we were all so tired. sorry that we picked napping over coming out to see you...but you are always in our hearts. when i mentioned that it was a special day for all daddy's...even mine, jacob said..."your dad is up in heaven for father's day." and that he is...celebrating with Our Father. i love you dad! and miss you every day!
