so, the last several days have been all about AUNT TERRI, and they definitely should be. but here are a couple things that happened today:
first of all...my baby boy CAN lie. and no, i'm not talking about jacob, he does it perpetually. my little jackman...but then he fessed up rather quickly. he pushed the button to close my sliding door on the van while jordyn was climbing in. i was filling her cup with milk when i heard it closing. i went out there to tell them to leave their hands off the doors when i noticed the door was about a foot from being closed and jordyn's legs were still hanging out. i dropped the gallon of milk and went and pryed the door back open. it has a safety feature that it won't shut on anything, but it has to squish a little before it stops and bounces back.
i looked at jacob and asked who pushed the button. he said, "jack did it."
i looked at jack (pretty sure that jacob had done it) and asked him, "who pushed that button to close the door." in a second he yelled out, with terror in his eyes, "jacob." he's never said jacob's name so clearly! in the background i hear jacob saying, "no i didn't mommy. i'm telling the truth." (which usually doesn't mean anything). but something in his voice this time just got me. so i looked back at jack and asked again, "did you shut the door while sissy was climbing in?" and with very sad eyes, he said, "yes." his head has never hung lower. he's never lied before. i was in shock.
i pointed to his seat in the car and told him to get his butt in there. as he climbed up, i gave him a swat on his back (not hard enough to even penetrate his diaper) and he started wailing a pitiful wail. he was just so sad. i was sad.
when i went around to buckle him in, he just looked at me and said, "i sorry mommy. i sorry." i told him to tell that to his sister, so he looked at her and said, "i sorry sissy." then i kissed him and all was right with the world!
seriously. what am i going to do now that he knows how to lie?
my second funny for the day:
i took my mom out to see AUNT TERRI this evening. any time alone with mom is usually quite a treat. the stories she comes up with, are usually quite entertaining. but this little comment was TOOOO funny not to pass on.
somehow boy terry and aunt sharon were mentioned and that sparked something in my mom's head. she said, "one of these days, i've got to have sharon and terry come up to the 'home' on their bikes (Harley-Davidsons) and give some of the residents a little ride around on the lot." i wasn't going to mention anything...but i couldn't resist. i said, "mom, how do you think they are going to get ONTO a bike, or OFF OF a bike? i got on the back of one the other day and when i tried to get off, i fell off. what do you think is going to happen to everyone who uses a walker or wheelchair to get around?" her answer, "well not everyone is going to be able to ride." i'm thinking...YOU aren't going to be able to ride. my van is too difficult to get into and out of. silly mommy!
