well...as well as a visit can go 3 days after major surgery...it went that well. she still looks like she's in pain. she's really tired and trying not to pump herself full of her pain meds because then she's even more tired.
they have a "hold" on her room so that they will fill other beds before they give her a roommate again. hopefully this won't happen.
she started her "clear liquid" diet today. she wasn't very hungry. but who would be when given chicken broth, red jello, popsicles and juice.
she's down to one IV that's giving her fluids, her pain pump meds and any other meds as long as she's on it. i think as soon as she's able to keep down pain pills and eat and drink enough to satisfy them, she might be rid of it.
tim is going back to work tomorrow so that when she's ready to come home, he'll take his vacation then. so various people will be going to stay with her during the day. she's doing really well though. made it to the bathroom a couple different times that i was there, so she's moving. i'm happy to see that. it's just that much closer to the AUNT TERRI that we know and love.
and then of course, there was the little jokes that i heard that made me aware that her sense of humor hasn't changed.
path report should be done by the end of the week. pray for good news. pray for no roommate. pray for continued healthy recovery. the doctors and nurses want her to "toot"...so go ahead and pray for that too! (hehehehe)
i think a visitor restriction would still be best as she has lots of close family and friends stopping by all the time that she's not really getting enough straight rest. i almost wish they would only make visiting hours for a shorter amount of time per day. that way they wouldn't be so spaced out. not that she would ever feel like she has to entertain anyone...she'd just tell you to leave! but...if they limited it...then they wouldn't all show up all day long. understand? yeah...i thought so. me neither!
