we had jacob's parent-teacher conference tonight. not that i was nervous (i KNOW he's a better child at school than he is at home), but i just worried there might be 'something'. but alas, there was nothing! he sits still, he listens, he's not disrespectful, he knows his bible stories and bible verses, he completes his work with no help (most of the time) and there's nothing that we need to focus on. one of the things they need to know is counting to 20...his teacher said, "i know he can count to 100, he's done it before, but all we need right now is to 20." he recognizes all the letters they have worked on, capital and lower case, and he can tell you the sounds. he knows all of his shapes, colors, and his fine and gross motor skills are great. he has a great vocabulary and you can understand the point he is trying to get across. so....HE'S PERFECT...at school. now if only that would run over into his home life, huh?
special note to jacob:
we are so very proud of you. and though you may not like going to school some mornings (because "it's too much learning") i know that you are getting what you need to out of it and making friends in the process. i may not say it enough, but you really are a sweet and caring little boy and i'm so very proud of the 4 year old that you've become. you're so very smart, sometimes too smart, and i just can't believe that you know some of these things at 4 years old! keep making us proud! we know you will!!!! - mommy
