first, let me start by saying (belated) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! i hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed holiday with your family and friends!!!!
now...on to our festivities...
Christmas Eve is spent at aunt terri's every year. that's just the way it is, was and always will be. but, we had to be a little early this year because of aunt sharon's work schedule. so we started at 1.
linner was at about 2:30/3ish. jacob and jack got their very own special table in the foyer while the adults scattered between two other tables around them.
jack didn't really want to sit still (note: he had not had a nap today). he kept getting up and running out. sometimes to play with the stereo, sometimes to get out a toy....but one time...to open up a present (for dan and val). jacob was so patient though...he waited through his meal in order to open any presents!!! way to go jacob!
after linner was present time. i tried to manage it in an orderly fashion. the plan was to have everyone open a present at one time. tell that to a FOUR year old who just wants the next one...then the next one...then the next one! so, needless to say, it was chaos. i couldn't keep track of who got what, who had opened whose present and what was left.
the boys were SO excited about their gifts. they definitely had fun opening them!
sharon and terry left about 4, then we waited for dan and val to come over. then we celebrated again with them!!!! yeah, more goodies!!!!!
we left about 7:30ish to go home for bedtimes. jordyn and jack did AWESOME without naps. they both even made it home where i gave jordyn some more dinner before bedtime and jack and jacob played until 10pm.
jacob and i kept track of santa on Norad's Santa Tracker website. that was AWESOME! and it taught us some geography along the way.
after we were done putting together a race track that jacob received, i told the boys it was time to go to bed. by this time, santa was in Louisiana, and we knew Santa wouldn't come if we weren't sleeping. we put cookies and milk out for Santa and carrots out for the reindeer and off to bed we went! no fighting about it. actually, they raced up to bed, rushed through potty and teeth brushing and got into bed without stories! they were both so excited (and probably thoroughly exhausted). jacob was insistant on going to bed with his Hulk Hands on...so he did. he said they'd be like pillows.
so it was off to bed for them, and on to moving the presents from mom and dad to under the tree.
