i just have to share my wonderful "jacob" story tonight. jack was having a rough night. he was so tired and had a very long, busy day. he had napped well, but he's also not feeling all that great. anyway, jacob picked out his night time story to read "I've Seen Santa" and jack was taking his own sweet time. he finally came back with his choice, "Little Quack's Hide and Seek". i started to open jacob's story and jack LOST IT! he could not be consoled. he kept pushing his book in front of my face and trying to get me to read it. with that, jacob said, "since it was his birthday week, i think we should read his story first."
it almost brought tears to my eyes. this is not typical jacob. but he has been very patient and loving towards jack the last few days. just yesterday, out of nowhere, he told jack that he loved him.
tonight when i was putting him to bed i asked him if he was going to pray to God, thanking Him for his family and friends. he said, "i will when i'm sleeping." then he thought for a minute and said, "how about we pray together now?" so we did. and do you know, not ONCE did he thank God for his toys. i was so impressed. my heart is just so full of pride this evening for this little man. i knew that heart was in there somewhere!!!!
a special note to jacob:
i love you jacob!!! you're growing into a fine young man and i'm so proud of you! you are so very smart (maybe too smart for your own good at 4 years old) and ready to take on the world already! just know that no matter what, i always love you and will always be behind you!
