let me try to paint the picture for you....
everyone is at the house, except sharon (who is bringing rich and grandma). i had jokingly told her to be here at 5:29 (we were going to eat at 5:30). 5:32 rolls around...still no sharon. a few minutes later, she walks through the door, puts down a casserole dish and here's how it went down:
sharon-"i just walked into your neighbor's house."
terri/tim/me-"WHAT?"
sharon-"i wanted out of the car SO BAD that i just pulled into the driveway and went into the house. when i walked in, a dining room table full of people were just looking at me. i said, 'i think i'm in the wrong house'. then they said, 'well...what do you have?'" she was carrying a sweet potato casserole.
sharon justified this action by the fact that the neighbor's house is laid out like ours. mind you...that's only the INSIDE. the outside is NOTHING like ours. they have brick, we don't. we have a full porch across the front, they don't. we have a tree, they don't. now...let's get to the cars that were in THEIR driveway....none of them even resemled the cars that were in my driveway, you know, the ones that sharon should be familiar with!!!
how freaking hilarious is that? this was by far the FUNNIEST holiday event ever! though i must say that terri and i singing "grandma got run over by a reindeer, coming home from jenn's house on november 10th." of course, you might have to know that whole story too. that's another day!
and while i'm typing this...it just dawned on me...grandma and rich were in the car, too. actually, they were in the process of getting out of the car. shouldn't ONE of the 3 people in that car have realized that this wasn't my house??????

This totally sounds like something I (or someone in my family) would do.
