yeah yeah yeah, i know. where are the pictures? where are the stories? where are the updates?
you know where they are? my HEAD! it's almost break time at good old IHM and hopefully i can get some major updating done.
but in the mean time, i'm going to add a few now.
jordyn has a new set of tubes. a few months ago, her left tube came out. can't believe that i saw it just sitting in her ear one day. it truly is one of the tiniest things i've ever seen. simply amazing how it works.
a couple weeks ago, she woke up screaming in the middle of the night and was bleeding from her ear. now...i realize that i'm just a medic student...but that just didn't seem right to me. so off to the ER we went (after a talk with the exchange nurses). by the time we got there (2am) she was happy, singing and running through the ER halls. OBVIOUSLY very sick :) the nurse came in, asked what we were coming in for this morning and she answered, "my ear hurts." the nurse looked at her, then back at me and asked when it started? jordyn answered, "when i was at grandma's house." so apparently i wasn't needed for this conversation!
one look and it was determined that her ead drum had burst. so she was happy now because it had created it's own "tube".
so off to the ENT we go. i wanted the surgery ASAP because she was still complaining of her ear hurting (but personally...i think she just wants the tylenol and motrin...we've created an addict).
anyway, she received a new set of tubes and had her adenoids removed. she was a CHAMP!!!! not ONE tear. not ONE scream or yell. only the tinies bit of whining. she came out of anesthesia like a champ, and immediately said, "i want to go home now." i told her that she neede to be able to stay awake and drink some juice before we could go. once she was awake enough, she drank half a cup of juice in one drink! she wanted out.
she was great when we got home and her recovery was awesome. she still asks for her crunchy medicine (again...i think she's an addict).
