Christmas morning...

well, we got home from AUNT TERRI'S last night about 11:30ish. the kiddos all played for a little bit, while i cleaned up the house for the next morning. we had to put a plate of cookies and carrots out, and a cup of milk for santa and his reindeer, clear the way from the chimney to the tree and just clean up in general. by the time i was done, it was midnight. we checked santa's location and saw that he was in the U.S., so we ran upstairs to bed. i wanted to start a new tradition of reading "twas the night before christmas" to them on Christmas Eve, but jacob was overly concerned that santa would pass us up if we were still awake. i still was able to get the story read though (thank goodness).
then jordyn decided to hang on to jack's dresser handle, lose her balance on a small stool, hang on to the handle for dear life and slam her forehead into the bottom drawer handle. there was LOTS of blood. it's amazing how calm i get when this happens (and head injuries happen a lot in our house-when it comes to jordyn, anyway). maybe i actually picked the right field to get in to (35 years later). anyway, i put the boys to bed first, then her. i wanted to watch her for a bit before putting her to bed. she recovered very well from this one though. only cried briefly, and once i gave her the brand new baby she got from AUNT TERRI and uncle tim tonight, she was all better. by the time i got her to bed, it was 1:10AM.
boys were up at 7:45am. i woke jordyn up at 8am and we all headed downstairs. i tried to get a picture of jordyn's face when she saw the tree, but i think she was so tired, it didn't register. but when the wrapping paper started flying...she was WIDE AWAKE!
they tore through their presents in record time, and we started putting stuff together and playing. and it's no suprise that my house looks even more like a toy store now! we have 2 race tracks all over the living room floor, a baby doll house, a bakugan arena, baby doll bed, handy manny tool bench, trio blocks and legos all over the family room floor, and mickey mouse choo choo express on the kitchen floor. and in and out of the family room is the ball pit for the kids to play in. lots and lots of toys!!!! lots and lots of fun. so you would think that with all these new toys, the TV would be off and jacob wouldn't want to play on the computer...but NOOOOOO. it did last a while, though!
